The desire to give their three young boys an active outdoor upbringing was the catalyst behind Nick and Lynda Jaggers’ decision to emmigrate to Hawke’s Bay.
The pair has lived all over the world so they knew what they wanted, and more importantly, what they didn’t want.
“We’ve lived in New York, London, and Hong Kong so we really wanted to go to the other extreme,” say Nick.
Nick says they were attracted by Hawke’s Bay’s Mediterranean climate, as well as the region’s great outdoors, and also its remoteness.
So while on a visit to New Zealand last year Nick spoke to a recruitment agency that put him in touch with EasyPrint Hawke’s Bay, a printing and advertising company.
A few months and several conversations later, Nick was offered a position as the company’s new general manager and work began on the huge move.
The family arrived in Hawke’s Bay in August 2006 with the pet labrador Casper clearing quarantine a few weeks later.
Nick says the two eldest boys are now settled at a local school, with their youngest son soon to start at a nearby pre-school. He says while they’re still finding their feet, it’s great to be able to provide their boys with such a wonderful environment to grow up in.
