Drew Broadley – local boy back home

After nearly 20 years Drew Broadley has returned to Hawke’s Bay with his family to rediscover a better quality of life.

The new marketing/circulation manager of Hawke’s Bay Today left the region in 1988 to go to university, but now with a wife and two young children he’s decided Hawke’s Bay is the place to be.

“It was a lifestyle choice to leave Auckland and move here – it’s a great place to live in and to bring up children,” says Drew.

Drew worked for courier company DHL in Auckland, and says it was no surprise to jump into an equally strong career path with Hawke’s Bay Today.

“It’s been an ideal start coming back to the Bay to meet any number of progressive business and lifestyle minded people, all keen to support the Bay and grow our local economy.”

And he’s reveling in his eight minute drive to the office each day - after facing an hour and a half daily commute to work in his last job.

“The move has definitely given me a stronger sense of work/life balance.” Drew says.

And he’s been impressed with the changes he’s found in Hawke’s Bay since leaving nearly two decades ago.

“Napier is much more savvy and sophisticated now with different environments to suit every taste and living choice. Hastings has re-invented itself, still with a strong local community plus great parks and public spaces.”

Drew says the opportunity to live and work in such fantastic surroundings can’t be matched.
